Swansea Belmont’s Bella Williams and Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park’s Bailey Johns have been announced as the replacement athletes for Lily Finati and TJ Hendy in the closing rounds of the Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series this weekend.

Finati was ruled out of the final rounds following medical advice this morning while Hendy was also ruled out due to ongoing health concerns and medical advice.

Williams and Johns were next in line for a call up following their performances and results in the Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman trial at Tugun in December last year.

Having already raced in two rounds of the Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series in Bondi earlier this year, Williams will join the 20 strong line up again this weekend at Kurrawa Beach for the final rounds of the Series.

Johns moved from NSW Central Coast to Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park 18 months ago to train under Michael King and will make his Nutri-Grain IronMan Series debut in the final rounds of the series at Kurrawa.

“Stoked to get opportunity to race against the best athletes from around the country in the Nutri-Grain Iron Series,” said Johns

“Can’t wait to put my foot on the line and give it my best shot.

“I wish TJ all the best with his recovery.”

The final rounds of the Nutri-Grain IronMan & IronWoman Series continues across Saturday and Sunday 5-6 February 2022, live on Channel 9 from 12-2PM AEDT.

New Zealanders can watch the Nutri-Grain IronMan & IronWoman Series live on Sky Sports from 2-4PM NZDT.
