Reigning Nutri-Grain IronWoman champion Lana Rogers dominated the opening round of the 2021 Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series blitzing the field in the tough enduro format.

Rogers looked unstoppable from the outset during the 38 minute race, with the real battle for minor placings drawing the most attention, with New South Wales Ironwoman star Lizzie Welborn taking second place, closely followed by Sunshine Coast and Series debutant Emma Woods finishing third.

“I took a risk in that race and I just said to myself if I go hard now at least I’ve tried, and it paid off,” Rogers said.

“I think the toughest and the fittest athletes, especially with these types of conditions, are going to come out on top.

“I love these conditions, hopefully it gets a little lower throughout the weekend but I’ll be ready to go no matter what,” she said.

The Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series will return tomorrow, Saturday 13 February, for round two followed by round three on Sunday 14 February. Tune into 9GO! to catch all the action from 12pm-2pm.
