Adam Palmer grew up in Brisbane and moved up to Sunshine Coast at the age of 16. He started out as a nipper at the age of 6 and has followed through with surf lifesaving up to today where he makes his debut Nutri-Grain Iron Series debut. Outside of training, Palmer enjoys playing Fortnite with his mates.

Adam, how old were you when you started surf lifesaving and why?

Starting surf lifesaving at the age of 6 because dad threw me in the ocean every weekend. I have always loved the ocean so I stuck with it ever since.

Who was your hero growing up in and out of surf lifesaving?

Trevor Hendy and Rhys Drury.

What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?

The sky has no limit’s and either should you!

Your advice for aspiring Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain athletes?

Your age is only a number and names are only names.

What do you think about on the start line?

Hopefully not falling off my board.

Adam, what has been a high in your IronMan journey?

High: Qualifing for the 2021/22 Nutri-Grain Iron Series for sure.

Low: I came in second during the inaugural Nutri-Grain Next Gen by just one point!

What is your go-to meal the night before a carnival?

Chicken parmigiana and chips.
