Bio
The top place finisher in the Shaw and Partners Iron Series Trial, presented by Race One Surf Craft, Charlotte Hart moved to Australia from England when she was 8 years old. Now with her foot on the line in the 2025/26 Shaw and Partners Iron Series, Hart’s main goal is to get to the Grand Eliminator and re-qualify. Hart is currently in my first year studying occupational therapy at university, and hopes to become a paediatric occupational therapist in the future.
Charlotte, how old were you when you started surf lifesaving and why?
My family moved from England when I was 8 and I started Nippers to be safe in the ocean.
Who was your hero growing up in and out of surf lifesaving?
Brielle Cooper.
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
Don’t overthink it, just do it.
Your advice for aspiring Shaw and Partners Iron Athletes?
Race as much as you can, because that experience of back to back racing is so important, and training just doesn’t compare to racing. And also don’t worry what training everyone else is doing, just focus on what you’re doing and how you can get better.
Do you have any race day superstitions?
I like to have pink nails and braids.
Charlotte, what has been a high and low in your IronWoman journey?
High: Making the Shaw and Partners Iron Series for the first time this year!
Low: Just missing out on making the Sunday of the Trial, presented by Race One Surf Craft, last year by two places.
What do you think about on the start line?
The start and the first 20 strokes – also not falling in a pothole.
Do you have a secret talent?
I can do 25 full pull ups.
