Bio
Having spent most of her live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this season Georgia Singleton relocated to the Gold Coast to chase her dreams. The 22-year-old Ironwoman also previously played Netball at a high level, but decided to pursue surf lifesaving and Iron racing five years ago. Singleton recently graduated with a Bachelor of Property Economics, and when not training and competing she enjoys relaxing and spending time with her friends and family at the beach.
Georgia, how old were you when youstarted surf lifesaving and why?
I started in the U6’s after years of watching my older sister and brother love nippers.
Who was your hero growing up in and out of surf lifesaving?
Shannon Eckstein and Courtney Hancock.
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
“Trust the Process.”
Your advice for aspiring Shaw and Partners Iron Athletes?
Work hard and have fun!
What do you think about during a race?
I focus on the present and what I’m doing in the moment. One thing at a time.
Georgia, what has been a high and low in your Ironwoman journey?
Low – Missing the qualification for the Shaw and Partners Iron Series by just one position and one point.
High – Being bought in as a replacement for the Shaw and Partners Iron Series and making my debut!
Do you have any race day superstitions?
I have same the race day breakfast – avocado and poached eggs on toast.
Do you have a secret talent?
I’m really good at online shopping.
