Bio
Cooper Williams has competed in the Nutri-Grain Series twice before and is now back in the Nutri-Grain togs again for 2022/2023 after a brilliant Trial Round in Tugun. This season his goal is to be consistent with the top half of the field and solidify his place amongst the elite. When he is not training, Williams is a full-time carpenter apprentice.
Cooper, how old were you when youstarted surf lifesaving and why?
6 years old. I joined because the rest of my family were heavily involved with Peregian SLSC.

Steve Pullen
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
“If it’s hurting you, it’s killing them,” John Rogers (my old swim coach)
Your advice for aspiring Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain athletes?
Swim, swim and swim. Swim training is essential.
What do you think about on the starting line?
I think about how to execute a good start and get to the front.
What do you think about during a race?
Where my best opportunity is to conserve as much energy as possible and where I can win the race.
Cooper, what has been a high and low in your IronMan journey?
High: Top 6 in my first Nutri-Grain Series race.
Low: Being the 2nd best Ironman in my family.
Do you have a secret talent?
I am quite skilled at Call of Duty.
