Last year Cooper Williams saw first-hand just what the Nutri-Grain IronMen are capable of. Having qualififed for his forst Nutri-Grain Series in the 19/20 competition, Williams shone in Round 2 placing 5th against the likes of Kendrick Louis, Matt Bevilacqua and Matt Poole. Now back in the Nutri-Grain togs once more, Williams is vying at the gate to take on the greats once more. When he is not training, you can find him on his PlayStation playing Call of Duty.

Cooper, how old were you when youstarted surf lifesaving and why?

6 years old. I joined because the rest of my family were heavily involved with Peregian SLSC.

Who was your hero growing up in surf lifesaving?

Grant Kenny was and still is because of how he changed the sport and is an all-round great person.

What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

Your advice for aspiring Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain athletes?

Keep working hard.

What do you think about on the starting line?

Getting off to the best start that I can.

What do you think about during a race?

I concentrate on doing the little things right.

Cooper, what has been a high and low in your IronMan journey?

High: Qualifying for my first Nutri-Grain Series last year and placing 5th in Round 2.

Low: There were a few rounds last year where I could have raced better than I did.

Do you have a secret talent?

I am quite skilled at Call of Duty.
