Hailing from the sands of Trigg Island, WA, WIll Savage chased his Ironman dream east to the Gold Coast. He has found himself at Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park SLSC, and under the tutelage of surf sports coach Michael King, has earned an entry to the 2023/24 Nutri-Grain Series for the first time.

Will, how old were you when you started surf lifesaving and why?

Grew up in Trigg surf club so have done it for as long as I can remember.

Who was your hero growing up in surf lifesaving?

Blake Allsopp was also from Trigg so I looked up to him for sure.

What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?

Go back to basics.

Your advice for aspiring Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain athletes?

Never skip on trianing.

What do you think about on the start line?

“Why am I here?”
