Race 1 – soft sand run
Race 2 – Board
Race 3 – Swim
Race 4 – Ski
Race 5 – Iron (Board, Swim, Ski)

The Specialist

Iron racing consists of Swim, Board, and Ski legs. The Specialist tests the Shaw and Partner’s Iron Athletes’ prowess across all these surf sport disciplines, and rewards those who have taken the time to master each one individually. This Round features five races, a soft sand run, a Board race, a Swim race, a Ski race, and finally a Traditional Iron race. Depending how an Iron Athlete performed across the first four races, they will be rewarded with a handicapped start in the last race. Winner of the Iron race takes the round, and the bottom placed four Iron Athletes will be knocked out of the 2024/25 Shaw and Partners Iron Series.

EVENT FORMAT

Eliminator

Three back-to-back Iron races, with the bottom six finishers in each race eliminated. Iron Athletes must stay out of the red zone if they want to claim as many points as possible int he Eliminator Rounds, else they find themselves knocked our of the entire Shaw and Partners Iron Series. There’s no time to rest, every moment counts in the Eliminator!

Race 1 – Ski, Board, Swim (20 Starters)
Race 2 – Board, Swim, Ski (15 Starters)
Race 3 – Swim, Ski, Board (10 Starters)

The Male Iron Athletes will complete all three of their Eliminator races before the Female Iron Athletes hit the beach.

The top 16 Iron Athletes after the two days of racing will proceed to compete in the final events at Miami.
