Bio
A Victorian local, Grace Harris moved to Alexandra Headland in 2020 to pursue her passion of surf sports. The move saw the competitive board paddler work her way into the irons. Harris already has some impressive accomplishments to her name, claiming the win in the Open Female Taplin at the 2024 Aussies and winning the 2023 Coolangatta Gold Short Course. Having had a taste of the Iron Series already, Harris is ready to take on the field again at the 2024/25 Shaw and Partners Iron Series.
Grace, how old were you when you started surf lifesaving and why?
I started when I was 7, Mum used to always tell my twin brother and I about how she did surf life saving when she was younger and we wanted to have a go.

I was always looking up to by Harriet Brown. Coming from Victoria herself, it inspired me to chase my dreams. I have been in a few Victoria teams with her and have always seen her as a mentor.

“Trust the process,” and “everything happens for a reason.”
Your advice for aspiring Shaw and Partners Athletes?
Keep working hard and believing in yourself, it will happen eventually.
What do you think about on the start line?
I try to remember the process, and not get too ahead of myself.

High: Qualifying for my debut Iron Series two years ago.
Low: Missing out at the Trials last year.
