The Shaw and Partners Iron Series is heading to Thirroul Beach, Wollongong, NSW, for the opening races this 14-15 November.

The Male Iron Athletes will race before the Female Iron Athletes.

Super Sprint
Race 1 – Swim, Board, Ski
Race 2 – Board, Ski, Swim
Race 3 – Ski, Swim, Board
Races will alternate between Female Iron Athletes and Male Iron Athletes.
The top 20 Iron Athletes after the two days of racing will proceed to the Newcastle races. All points acquired by athletes will be kept until the end of Eliminator Race at Newcastle on 10 January.

Repechage Round
This year, the eliminated ten competitors after the Shaw and Partners Coolangatta Gold 25.6 will have an opportunity to requalify back into the 2026/27 Shaw and Partners Iron Series through the Repechage Round.
The top four competitors of the Repechage Round will make it back into the Shaw and Partners Iron Series ready for the Super Sprint on Saturday, while the bottom six placed athletes will be eliminated.
The Repechage Round will be held at 1pm AEDT on Friday, 13 November.

Race 3 – Board, Swim, Ski
Shaw and Partners Iron Series Nipper Challenge
The Shaw and Partners Iron Series Nipper Challenge will be held as a lead in to the Thirroul Enduro and Super Sprint races.
Budding surf sport competitors aged from U11s to U14s are invited to sign up and compete on the same arena as the elite Shaw and Partners Iron Series Athletes. U11 and U12 events will be held on Saturday, 14 November, while U13 and U14 will compete on Sunday, 15 November.
Entries are to made via Liveheats, and are strictly capped at 32 per age group.
Podium winners for each age group of the Shaw and Partners Iron Series Nipper Challenge will receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal.

This November, Thirroul Beach plays host to the Shaw and Partners Iron Series, and there’s no better excuse to discover one of Wollongong’s most loved coastal villages.
