Bio
At just 16 years old, Jessica Conrad has already shown remarkable resilience on her journey to the Shaw and Partners Iron Series. After moving from Brisbane to Darwin and then the Gold Coast, Conrad joined Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park as a six-year-old nipper. She went on to enjoy success across multiple sports, including Netball and swimming, where she won the national 400m freestyle title in a 4.20. Despite overcoming multiple spinal injuries that forced her out of training, Conrad returned to competition this year and impressed with several Australian titles. Currently in Year 10, she balances school with training while continuing to pursue her goals in surf sports.
Jess, what is your best training hack?
Training with people that push to your limits but are also super supportive and kind to you.
What is your race day routine?
Have the same breakfast (porridge and toast), chuck my togs on, head down to the beach have a good warm up, talk to Kingy, swing my arms around, do some jumps and then race!
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
Think about the processes and the outcome will look after itself.
Do you have a secret talent?
I can do really good handstands.
