Bio
Growing up in Sunrise Beach, Campbell Asher spent most of his time surfing. With a dream of becoming a professional surfer one day, Asher made the pivot to surf sports, and found lots of success in his home state of Victoria. In 2022, Asher took out the U17 and Open Ironman races at the Victoria State Championships, becoming the youngest Open Ironman in State history. He then made the move north to the Sunshine Coast, and under the tutelage of Jack Hansen at Alexandra Headland SLSC, made the Australian Final in the U19 Ironman before qualifying for his debut Shaw and Partners Iron Series in 2025/26.
Campbell, which race format is your favourite?
Eliminator, I prefer to let my fitness come to play as the whole field gets tired. I’m also not as explosive as other athletes so under fatigue I can hold my own and outwork.
What is your race day routine?
Eat lots of food. I try to maximise my fuelling and then warm up effectively before racing. Eat, stretch, eat, warm up, eat some more.
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever been given?
Be present. My dad always tells me to stay present and not get caught up with my thoughts.
Do you have a secret talent?
My cooking.
