Reigning Nutri-Grain IronWoman Champion Lana Rogers has claimed back to back Nutri-Grain IronWoman titles today, after taking out round six of the Series.

Rogers adopted a steady approach to today’s Survival format, easing her way through each of the eliminator rounds, before kicking into gear for the final race.

Rogers gained some important metres on each of the run transition legs, before showing she her class in the final ski leg.

Georgia Miller finished second today to edge out Lizzie Welborn for second overall. Welborn will round out the Series podium, claiming third overall.

Rogers said she couldn’t have scripted a better Nutri-Grain IronWoman Series for herself.

“It doesn’t feel real at all – this Series means so much to me and I know I just needed to make that last race but the job wasn’t done yet for me,” Rogers said.

“I love a sprint up the beach, and I’m glad I put in those one percenters on the last edge of the ski leg – I’m really, really happy with myself today,” she said.

Heading in to today, it was going to require an upset to take the Series win away from Rogers, but it was some words of advice from Nutri-Grain IronMan Ali Day that fueled her fire.

“It was important for me to come out today with a win, I could’ve just chilled out once I made the first race, but Ali Day told me today ‘you’ll want to win these rounds’ and the job wasn’t done yet,” Rogers said.

“So that’s what I stuck with and I was a lot more aware of what was happening in the ocean today so I think that’s what won me the race there,” she said.
