Full Field Locked for 2023/24 Nutri-Grain IronMan / IronWoman Series

The full field for the 2023/24 Nutri-Grain IronMan & IronWoman Series is locked, with the final four wildcards announced today.

Former Series Champion Harriet Brown (Northcliffe) and Sunshine Coast IronWoman Tayla Halliday (Alexandra Headland) were awarded the female Wild Cards, whilst SLSA Athlete of the Year Connor Maggs (Newport) and last season’s Next Gen competitor Auden Parish (Northcliffe) were awarded wildcard spots following last weekend’s trial, to confirm the field of 20 ironmen and 20 ironwomen for the season.

It is just over one month until the Nutri-Grain IronMan & IronWoman Series kicks off at Manly Beach on December 16, 2023.

“I am so happy to be back in the Series, that was definitely the goal leading into the Trials on the weekend,” said Brown who finished 8th in the Trial on the weekend, just missing a qualifying place.

“The Trial was really challenging, I hadn’t trialled for 12-years, and it really showed the depth and talent that we have in our sport, it is definitely going to be a great season”.

Brown, who won the Nutri-Grain Iron Series in 2021-22, had her 2022/23 IronWoman Series impacted by injury, which cost her the chance of a Top 10 finish, which earns athletes’ automatic qualification into the following season’s Nutri-Grain Iron Series.

“Last year was a little bit challenging with a couple of injuries, especially off the back of winning the season before, but I just love racing and I am so excited to be in the Series,” Brown added.

“This is going to be my 15th Iron Series, I just love racing, I love our sport and I never thought early on I would be doing it for this long, but I am still here 15 years later.

“I love waking up every day going to training which I know sounds crazy, but I really love training and the pursuit of trying to be better,” added Brown.

“There are so many girls from the Series who are training at Northcliffe and I see how hard they all train so I am reminded every single day about how hard and competitive the Series is going to be and I am really excited to know that I will again be part of it”.

The Nutri-Grain Ironman & Ironwoman Series will be held across six rounds over three weekends, with all the action live on SBS.
